The information I have (from a book called “Who’s Who in the Methodist Church”) shows a George Mosby Newcomb who married Virginia Smith Nininger. They had a son named Ernest Henry Newcomb, born 18 Sep 1886 in Troutsville, who married Ruby Anderson in 1913.

I have not been able tio trace the parents of George Mosby Newcomb, born in Virginia in about 1861. Census of 1870 shows a George Newcomb born to Henry Newcomb of Birch Creek Virginia. Mother is listed as Mary in 1860 but she apparently dies in the middle 1860′s and doesn’t show on the 1870 census. One relative has a george Henry Newcomb and Molly sled as parents but I can find no trace of these names.

It is possible that George Mosby Newcomb had a brother named Henry born in 1858.

Molly is sometimes a nickname for Mary. I’ve also tried spelling Sledd with two d’s, but so far have not found anything.
