Welcome to “Newcombs in America”. Our mission is to promote genealogical research relating to the Newcomb family name, and to improve communication between Newcomb descendants and connected families. We encourage participation by all Newcomb family researchers and anyone with an interest in genealogy.
Anyone may view this website. If you want to post messages, you must become a registered member. Registration is free and easy. In the “Members†menu area, select “Registerâ€. Supply your login name and email address. You must provide a valid email address, since your login information will be emailed to you. (We require valid email addresses to discourage spammers.) We do not display your email address to others on the website, we do not give it to others, and we do not use it to spam you.
Once you have registered and received your password via email, you are ready to log in. From the “Members†menu box on the left, select “Loginâ€. Enter your user name and password. To manage your password and user profile, select “Site Admin†from the “Members†area. Click on “Users†in the menu bar.
To post any kind of message here, you must be a member. Membership is free.
There are two ways to post.
1) You may add a reply to an existing message. Simply click on the Replies link. You will be able to read others’ replies, and fill in a form to post your own reply. If this is the first time you have posted, your reply will be held for approval by the administrator. Note that some messages do not allow replies.
2) You may start a new message. Click on the “Site Admin†link in the “Members†menu box. Choose “Write†from the menu bar. After composing your message, click on “Save as Draftâ€. Your message will appear on the website after it has been approved by the administrator.
We do not warrant the accuracy, completeness or usefulness of any message posted here, and are not responsible for the contents of any message. We have the right but not the obligation to remove messages as we see fit. We have the right to deny service to anyone for any reason. You agree, through your use of this service, that you will not use this forum to knowingly post any material which is false or defamatory, inaccurate, abusive, vulgar, hateful, harassing, obscene, profane, sexually oriented, threatening, invasive of a person’s privacy, or which violates any law. You agree not to post any copyrighted material unless you own the copyright.
