I think most people get depressed sometimes. It's a normal part of being a human being and being engaged in life. If you find that depression is becoming the main theme of your life or if the sadness becomes overwhelming, then it's a good idea to get some counseling to help you find out the true cause of your depression and what you can do about it.

I have a mirror problem. At first I played it wrong. With just the finger I needed, but I made a point to play it like it's supossed to. But It's easier to play with my leftie, my right hand sometimes play the wrong note. Just for the record I'm right-handed in writing and many more thing and left handed in a few things, but I'd like to be left-handed.

I agree, at my school in most classrooms there are righty desks. I'm left-handed, and from the first day I knew it was going to be torture. The first month using them it wasn't bad, then when it got past that, my neck, back, and shoulders ache so badly it hurts whenever I move them (and actually results to me having to take little breaks between writing.)
In my school, it's a private school, and they get money. I don't understand why it'd be a problem, considering its only a little more money, which the school makes with tuition.

i was a left handed person as a child I was force to write with my right. My mother believed people that wrote with a left hand were evil. Later on she realize she made a mistake because a lot of things were hard to do. Like opening a can. Now that I'm an adult and as child my brain always told me to use my left and when I notice I was I/would immediately switch to my right. I can write with both hands and I mostly use my left hand. I think this was cruel thing to do to a child bc at time I was confuse and stay am.

i dont know why people change their children to right handed if they're left handed, left handed people are smarter (the whole left side uses right brain) so forced right handedness is a terrible idea, make sure you tell your parents that

I am the exact same! I have always considered myself to be a lefty until now. I write and use chopsticks with my left hand but everything else, and I mean EVERYTHING - sports, guitar, scissors, etc I use my right hand. I'd really like to know the reason behind this.

Has anyone had a problem with a desk being set up for a righty? I have just been told that these desks are for both lefties and righties.
I don't think the desk is the problem, it's where the desk is situated.

My left hand is against the wall and I have tried to get used to it, but I can't seem to get used to it. My human resource people refuse to change the desk (more the location).

What's my next step? This is a major insurance company.

99.99% of the people above are Mixed-handed, also known as cross-dominance and not ambidexterity.

I see none truely knows what ambidexterity means here. Allow me to clearly define its meaning:

Ambidexterity: Able to use both hands equally. Meaning you can write/draw as good, throw/kick a ball as hard and etc with both your left and right hand/leg.

Mixed-handed, also known as cross-dominance: Writes better with left hand but throws a ball more efficiently with right, or vice versa.

I might be closer to ambidexterity than a lot though. I can write, throw a ball and etc, as well/easy with both hands, but some tasks I still find it quite difficult. I.e controling a mouse, shifting gear and etc, with both hands...

I don't think I was born this way though. Every since I was a young kid, I have been imitating my left handed elder brother to feel closer to him. But tries to imitate all the right handers to "look normal". But in result, it made me awfully abnormal...

It is nothing to be happy about, it made me use both brains equally. That means, I am neither good with logic nor emotions. And they say equal is good.

In my country, (almost) every left-handed child must write by their right hand, or being hit by the teacher( or also their parents). So there are many left-handed people in Vietnam have become right-handedness. And i'm one of them. So, when i was kid, i found it difficulf to write, read, learn,... and use the right hand's strength. Then i had tried to write by my left and it was successful. Now i can write by my both hand.
LISTEN TO ME, EVERYONE SHOULD WRITE BY THEIR STRONG-HAND AND DON'T EVER CHANGE IT.

My son is a left-handed 9-years-old. He has difficulty reading and telling me later what he has read. His best reading occurs when he reads out loud and hears himself, but that is not permitted in the class room. Reading things two or three times seems to help, but I might have him try that suggested out loud reading inside his head.

He also writes with some reversals, like b's and d's, but that has gotten much better now.

He loves baseball, but is having some trouble batting. When he was 4 and 5 years old he hit the ball all the time, but now he misses allot or fouls. His confidence is suffering with his poor reading, or poor decoding skills, and his batting is not getting any better either.

His dad is right-handed with a master's degree, but his grandfather was a lefty and never finished third grade. On the surface, lefties seem to be late bloomers as they learn to cope at later age perhaps? What to do?
